Let people see their own calendar when they book you.

People booking with you can lay their own calendar over your open times and spot a time that works. Only they see their events, and it’s free for them.

How does it work for the person booking?

One toggle and a quick sign-in, and their week appears on your link. The gear icon lets them pick which calendars to show.

On phones and in Month View, times that clash with their events get a small red slash instead.

  1. 1

Open your link. They open your scheduling link, as they would to book any time.

  2. 2

Click “Overlay my calendar”. The toggle sits above the week of open times.

  3. 3

Sign in. They sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Fastmail, and come straight back to your link.

  4. 4

See their week. Their events appear next to your open times. They can turn them off and on with the same toggle.

  5. 5

Pick a time and book. Their name and email are filled in on the booking form, so there’s less to type.

What does the person booking need?

A Google, Microsoft, or Fastmail account to sign in with. If they don’t have a SavvyCal account, signing in creates a free one. It costs them nothing, and it isn’t a trial that runs out.

They don’t need an account to book you. Without overlay, they pick a time and fill in the booking form as usual.

To overlay an iCloud calendar, they sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Fastmail first, then connect iCloud from the gear icon.

Can I see their calendar?

No. Only the person booking sees their events. SavvyCal reads their events from their calendar for the dates on screen, shows them to them, and doesn’t save them to its database.

You see the booking they make, the same as any other booking.

Which plan do I need?

Overlay is on every SavvyCal link, so it comes with Basic: $10 per user per month billed annually, or $12 monthly. Signing up, connecting your calendars, and setting up links is free; letting people book from your links needs a paid plan.

What people say about overlay

Love the fact that those booking meetings can overlay their calendar to easily find a time. Very easy to make multiple calendar links and access them via the Chrome Extension!

Officially cancelled my Calendly and upgraded my SavvyCal. Allowing my invitees to overlay their own calendar to pick a good time is game changing!

Calendar overlay, answered

More on what people see when they book with you is in the help center.

Can people see their own calendar while they book with me?

Yes. On a SavvyCal link, the person booking clicks “Overlay my calendar” and signs in with Google, Microsoft, or Fastmail. Their events then appear next to your open times.

Does the person booking need a SavvyCal account?

Signing in to overlay creates a free SavvyCal account if they don’t have one. It costs them nothing, and they don’t need it to book you without overlay.

Can I see their calendar?

No. Only the person booking sees their events. SavvyCal reads them from their calendar for the dates on screen and doesn’t save them to its database.

Does overlay work on phones and embedded links?

On phones and in Month View, a signed-in person sees a small red slash on any time that conflicts with their events, instead of the full overlay. Links embedded in a website usually don’t offer overlay, so share your booking page link when it matters.

Which plan do I need?

Overlay is on every SavvyCal link, so it comes with Basic: $10 per user per month billed annually, or $12 monthly. Letting people book from your links needs a paid plan.
